The Junior League of San Francisco (JLSF) will begin accepting applications for fiscal year 2009-2010 Community Program Grants on July 1, 2008. The deadline for submitting an application is October 16th, 2009. Applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received, and organizations are encouraged to apply as early as possible.  Grant awards will begin in June 2010.

Each year, the JLSF identifies one to four new organizations in keeping with the League's focus area to provide support with its funds and member hours.  While JLSF grants have an effective term of one year, our affiliation is a partnership; we look for associations with non-profit organizations with a time horizon ranging from two to five years. During this time, based on funds generated by JLSF fundraisers, we may provide grants (usually ranging from $5,000 to $40,000) and volunteer support (usually 10-25 JLSF volunteers working a minimum of five hours per month directly with the organization).

To be eligible, organizations must show evidence of 501(c)(3) status and must provide services related to the JLSF focus area of Support and Strengthen Families in Need in the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

Proposals received before the October 16th deadline are reviewed by the JLSF’s Community Program Development (CPD) Committee. The JLSF Board of Directors votes on the program recommendations in January. In February, the program slate is presented to the JLSF membership for final approval.

Applicants are notified of the final JLSF community program grant selections in May. Actual grant amounts for selected programs are announced no later than June.
