The Edgewood
Kinship Support Network (KSN) was developed in 1993 to provide support to kin
families, i.e. grandparents and relatives raising children without parents.
KSN provides support through case management; therapy, workshops and respite
care for caregivers; as well as educational and recreational programs and
living skills for youth.
Covered set-up and operational costs for Edgewood's Kinship Support Network temporary Food Bank and enabled the Food Bank to continue to operate through the holiday season.
The Future Leader Institute
FLI provides leadership development programs and opportunities for high school students in six lower income schools.
Provided emergency funding for certain program expenses, whch helped maintain the FLI program in all six schools.
Mural Music and Arts Project
MMAP provides at-focused summer camp and after-school programs to help youth to inspire them to improve their academics and help them gain life skills while generation art that inspires the community.
Provided emergency financial support for continued
operation of MMAP’s Health Education through Art after-school program for
thirty at-risk students at Starr King Elementary School in San Francisco.
San Francisco SafeHouse
SafeHouse is a
transitional housing program for chronically homeless women seeking to leave
prostitution.SafeHouse provides intensive
social support, group and individual therapy, linkages to medical and mental
health services, educational and vocational programs, nutrition and fitness
education, money management training, an internship program and help locating
permanent housing and jobs.
Funded emergency dental work for homeless women living in the transitional housing program.
