The California State Public Affairs Committee (SPAC)

The California State Public Affairs Committee (SPAC) was organized in 1971. SPAC represents 16 Junior Leagues and over 13,000 active voting women throughout the state. Two women from each Junior League are nominated for a two-year position (first year Junior SPAC, second year Senior SPAC) to advocate for specific non-partisan legislation relevant to member League issues, to educate Junior League members, and to coordinate the exchange of information from community-based projects to policy makers.

Advocacy Committee

The Advocacy Committee informs and educates League members about legislation that affects the JLSF focus areas on a local level. Volunteers learn advocacy skills, work with local legislators and work as a link to the policy needs of those involved with JLSF-supported community centers and organizations.

The Advocacy Committee provides articles for informational and educational purposes. These articles do not represent an endorsement of any candidate or issue.
