The Junior League of San Francisco, Inc. supports increased disaster preparedness in every community in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Child Care

The Junior League of San Francisco, Inc. supports public and private programs on national, state, and local levels that provide affordable, available and quality child care.

Children’s Issues

The Junior League of San Francisco, Inc. supports efforts to ensure that children have the opportunities and services essential for their physical, intellectual, emotional, mental, and social growth.

Diversity

The Junior League of San Francisco, Inc. supports efforts to promote diversity and eliminate discrimination based on age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability or religion.

Education (adopted 2006)

The Junior League of San Francisco, Inc. is committed to impact K-12 education via advocacy, grantmaking and direct service by supporting an uplifting and safe environment for youth development, cultural enrichment, life-skills training, tutoring, and after school and mentoring programs.

Family Violence

The Junior League of San Francisco, Inc. supports efforts to eliminate domestic violence by supporting programs and legislation designed to assist and protect the victims and work effectively with the abusers.

Gun Control

The Junior League of San Francisco, Inc. believes a safe environment is critical for the well-being of families. We support effective education about gun violence prevention and increased control of the availability of guns to the public.

Homeless

The Junior League of San Francisco, Inc. supports efforts to assist the homeless in the counties of Alameda, San Mateo, San Francisco and Marin.

Hospice

The Junior League of San Francisco, Inc. supports the concept of Hospice. The term Hospice refers to a comprehensive system of care which provides the terminally ill with professional inter-disciplinary health services including short term backup inpatient service, emphasizing home care and supportive services with family bereavement counseling. The patient’s family/friends are primary caregivers.

Substance Abuse

The Junior League of San Francisco, Inc. supports legislative reforms and educational and rehabilitative programs associated with drug and alcohol abuse.

Voluntarism

The Junior League of San Francisco, Inc. whose purpose is to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women, and to improve the communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers, supports and promotes voluntarism as an essential component of our society.

Women’s Issues

The Junior League of San Francisco, Inc. supports the right of all women to equal treatment and opportunity under the law and advocates for social, economic, health, cultural and educational opportunities for all persons.

The Junior League of San Francisco, Inc. respects the judgment and autonomy of every person. While we acknowledge that individuals may have differing personal beliefs about reproductive options, we can agree on the importance of protecting the right of each woman to decide for herself, without government interference.

The Junior League of San Francisco, Inc. supports the opportunity of all persons to freely and knowledgeably exercise these rights.
