Period Product Drive

Friday, April 1, 2022 - Saturday, April 30, 2022

There are many uncertainties in the lives of those experiencing poverty and those unhoused, including where to consistently find a hot meal, where to sleep each night, how to reliably find clean clothes, and where to take a shower and use the toilet. One issue that many people might not consider is: how to menstruate safely and with dignity.

Menstrual products, such as tampons and pads, are comparatively expensive. Reusable options such as menstrual cups require a person to have regular access to a safe place to clean their cup. Using rags or other cloth necessitates having a place to wash them nearby. If a person doesn’t have enough money for food, they often do not have the resources to use any of these options most of the time.

This is why we are hosting a period product drive to collect donations for Larkin Street Youth Services and the SF LGBT Center. We invite you to join us and help these organizations provide essential supplies all year round to those who menstruate.
